If, using the drawing track tool, you point too high to the wind, the track designer engages in
automatic crossing mode (Zig-zag-ing - Otherwise your boat would stop in the first pixel you clicked against the wind, and stay put until the next wind change. Of course you would not stay stopped for so long: its unrealistic).
If you mark the track (with Control-T) small "
z"s will show in the end of each segment requiring auto-crossing.
Of course is up to you to do the crossing by alternating tacks. There should be an indication of that ( /\/\/\/\/ ).
