Version 2.36 - release notes

* Included a method for wind speed interpolation similar to VVOR15's.
The algorithm affects the value of interpolated winds, particularly
in areas with high vorticity (cyclones).

To activate the new algorithm, set [x] VR style interpolation in the Wind Interpolation group.
This includes previous U/V wind direction interpolation.
Also set time interpolation to previous and position interpolation to bilinear

Thanks Cvetan for the "weird" formula.

* Fixed a problem with collision detection bitmaps that have a palette.
Previous version ignored the palette. For some bitmaps
one could only sail on the black part (supposed to be land!!).
Bitmaps edited with Photoshop all have a palette.
Note that the collision detection bitmap must be a
1 bit-per-pixel Windows BMP file. That didn't change.

* Before people start complaining, please note that there is an issue
with weather routing across the International Date Line.
The good news is that Auckland is the last thing before coming to the west side.

thanks for the update. Apparently the cruical fix came just in time for the next VOR leg, since leg 5 is running right into a powerful cyclone. Unless the start is postponed again...

Omar many thanks for the new version. Have updated from an older one and "weather routing" has started giving "out of memory" alerts. can't figure out the reason, any idea?

This is due to problems with interpolation across the International Date Line.

Version 2.36 didn't last long.
*Corrected issues with interpolated winds on the International Date Line.
*Changes in weather routing. Program now checks if WR end points are over land (they cannot)
*Fixed out-of-memory problem.

Update 2.37 is recommended for all users.
