VRTool 1.6 release

Postby omar » Mon Sep 28, 2009 8:05 pm

Sorry it didn't work for all. Working fine here :)
May be it can be adjusted but I need to know
how the different versions of Firefox and Windows
handle the cache.

Here I'm using Vista Business and Firefox 3.5.3.
Wind files are:
C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\AppData\Local\Temp\plugtmp-XX\plugin-meteo_*.xml
and boat data is:
C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\AppData\Local\Temp\plugtmp-XX\plugin-get_user.php
The XX is an integer number (p.e. 57 in my case). I'm scanning all available plugtmp-XX folders and
picking the lattest files (must have today's date)

in the "Cache Path" box I have "C:\Documents and Settings\omar\AppData\Local\Temp\"
(do not include the "plugtmp-XX" in the Cache path)

What should be changed to work with other versions of Firefox/Windows ?

Wind Only

Postby Neptune » Mon Sep 28, 2009 8:32 pm

In my case I use windows XP with Firefox V 3.5.3 I have listed the file location on the previous post.

I would like to get what I would consider something basic.

In the menu item "Winds" there is an option "Load XML" could this be used to load XML files made by any other program such us Grib2xml. and eliminate any reference to any other program such as VOR.

It would be a great start.

Although what you are trying to do is wonderful it seems to work only on certain PC

Well done Omar, the import wizard works for me too (XP) - users need to put a "\" at the end of their directory path for the files to be found.
The thought of doing this race without VRTool was not good - you've made my day :)

OK, so the only thing I haven't got yet are the polars.

I downloaded the ones on the link on page 2 but they're not working and don't look like my old VOR polars either. Anybody got a working set they can send?

I still can't get it to work.
I'm using Vista ultimate and firefox 3.5 and set the path to C:\Users\Alex\AppData\Local\Temp\

Doesn't work for me either.
I can find the files in a plugtmp directory in these directories :
C:\Users\<myuser>\Local Settings\temp\
C:\Documents and Settings\<myuser>\Local Settings\temp\
C:\Documents and Settings\<myuser>\AppData\Local\Temp\
But none of them work in the import data wizard.

I also tried to copy the files in c:\vrtool\plugtmp but didn't work.

When I click "Scan Firefox Cache", i have "0 file(s) found" result.
