download of NOAA-winds does not work any more as NOAA has changed the files .......... is there a solution ???

Seems like the new download URL is of the form

http://nomads.ncep.noaa.gov/cgi-bin/fil ... 2015011412

where the file name has changed as follows:

gfs.tCCz.pgrb.fFFF.grib2 -> gfs.tCCz.pgrb2.1p00.FH

Using Chrome.
wind downloads and updates are coming from the top left NOAA icon to my area specified. I have not had an issue with this route.

Got the same problem. I get a "404 Not Found" error when downloading NOAA winds since 4 hrs now.

Presumably there is an issue with the NOAA server, see http://nomads.ncep.noaa.gov/cgi-bin/filter_gfs.pl

up to gfs.2015011406: everything is fine
starting from gfs.2015011412: "No files or directories found"

By the way: Even the VR game server seems to have problems retrieving the NOAA winds, since it does not update the wind forcasts properly. Current (0H) winds are identical to the 12H forecast.

Looks like Russian Roulette on what the boats will actually do after the next wind update.

NOAA changed how the files are named yesterday. They announced some time ago that this was going to happen, but it appears that not everybody prepared properly for it

In the case of VRTool it is excusable, but not on the case of Virtual Regatta. After all, the whole game is based on this data.
